Genre: Speculative Mystery
Rating:  ★★★★★

Readers who like fast paced, intense suspense stories with strong world-building, will love Joe Prosit’s engaging psychological thriller with genre elements of mystery.

Main characters Ashton and Julie are relatable.

Haven’t many of us stressed about earning enough income to pay for bills, taxes, and have enough to spare and share?

Prior to visiting the clinic, home for Ashton and Julie was in Fridley, Minnesota.

Their clinic visit happened in winter.

Accustomed to ice crystals forming on every breath, they conditioned themselves to endure sub-zero wind chills.

As they brainstorm potential avenues of income, they answer an advertisement to visit a clinic.

Waking up in a completely different environment, they start their journey to get back.

Post clinic visit, they find themselves in a sun-soaked villa on a tropical island.

Everywhere they look there is beachy-elitism and rigid perfectionism.

Their private socializing and lifestyle with unlimited resources would seem ideal, except in this new setting, they’ve been assigned different identities.

First, they must look beyond the superficial genetic markers to find each other.

They can’t go by appearances because it is too dangerous to state aloud their remembrances of their true identities.

Both Ashton and Julie struggle with how or if they can leave this false, shallow world where laws of nature are manipulated.

Struggles are internal and situational, and plot developments hook readers from chapter one all the way through the end.
