I-94 Murders

Book Review: ★★★★★
Author: Frank F. Weber
Genre: Suspense Thriller
Subgenres: Police procedural / Private Detective / Mystery

Summer road trips tap into potential for ethereal joys and the fondest of cherished memories.

Years later you might be around a campfire and end up talking about the family trip where six people wedged into a two-door coupe.

The next person might remember fighting over who had to sit on the ‘bump’ in the backseat, or how they parked in a ditch and turned their tailgate into a makeshift picnic table.

Some lucky souls got to travel by way of laying horizontally underneath the backseat window.

They watched stars blaze by and were gently rocked to sleep by the white noise humming of a six-cylinder motor.

We stand united in applauding advances in car safety design.

We’re thrilled to reduce car crashes and their aftereffects, but for those who rode before their application, there were other unique joys.

I recommend bringing Frank F. Weber’s I-94 Murders if any of these reflections prompt plans for your own road trip.

You could enjoy a fully immersive journey by reading this book as you drive along Interstate 94 and off-shoots into communities such as Pierz, Minnesota, which is mentioned in the book.

I-94 Murders is inspired by true crime events, and it will reshape how you prepare for your own interstate travels.

I binge read the I-94 Murders after it was recommended to me from another who is hooked on the author’s work.

Weber applies a powerful story with strong attention to detail and masterful perfect pacing to read well past bedtime.

I’ll admit that I was tired the next day, but I didn’t regret how I spent my time.

The author adds believable locations, businesses, and names that contribute to his world building.

The Story:

Protagonist Jon Frederick begins working on the case at first as a private detective, hired by the family desperate to locate their missing daughter.

His side gig as a private detective is related to his main job within the police department.

He chooses to not disclose a conflict of interest, and as such, is privy to perspectives that point to more than several different leads, which Jon must chase down in this race against time.

A serial killer leaves clues that initiate intense suspense within every page.

You will feel the tension rising as you race alongside Fredericks’s initiatives to stop a serial killer before more carnage occurs.

I’ll sign off this blog by wishing you ‘Safe Travels.’
