6 Notes You’ll Never Forget

(#6)
Remember the first time someone passed you a note in class?

Did they ask you if you liked them?

It might have looked something like this: “Do you like me? Circle yes or no.”

Other notes might have been invitations to sit next to them at a football game, or meet at Jake’s Pizza after the game.

What about handwritten thank you notes?

A lost art for some, as is also the cursive writing that we used to scrawl out our gratitude.

These saved notes can trigger memories of special people, events and places we’d love to revisit.

We can still hear the long-ago laughter and smiles that accompany these remembrances as we hold them dear to our hearts.

Parental notes that gave us permission to go on field trips or ride another bus home were always exciting.

How about apology notes —both written and received —slipped under doors?

Notes were a necessary bridge to respectful, healthy relationships.

Forgiveness, empathy, and perspectives were all included in these notes that expanded our capacity to love.

Have you considered the flashes of brilliance you jot down on the back of an envelope as valuable notes?

Note-taking might enhance your prewriting routines.

Where you capture those ideas for potential future use isn’t as important as when you do it–right away.

It doesn’t matter if you write them on a drive-through napkin or an electronic file.

My nephew likes to call things or people he really likes, the “Bomb.com.”

As a writer, note-taking is the process by which you are essentially creating your own opportunities.

This process is the Bomb.com

“Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you. Create your own opportunities.” – Pete Maravich.

“Ah, amore…!”

Can one forget this type?

Never.

One feature of this style is that the word ‘love’ may not be written in the note, but it’s everywhere in the subtext.

“More amore, please. Thank you.”
